Introducing the perfect hoop — that's easy to open and close! Created with an invisible seam, our Mya Smooth Titanium hinged segment rings are infinitely useful for noses (septum, nostril) and ears (orbital, conch, cartilage, lobe, helix, tragus, and more). With a completely smooth surface, they won't catch on or harm your delicate skin. This continuous circle opens on a hidden hinge to achieve a seamless look.
Each piece is created with pure implant-grade titanium, so they won’t rust or fade when worn in the shower or to the gym. And, like everything at Grayling, our collection of modern nose rings and studs are entirely hypoallergenic and 100% nickel-free. Make this clicker hoop yours and enjoy "set-it-and-forget-it" convenience 24/7!

SIZING NOTES FOR A PERFECT FIT:
The inner diameter of the ring should roughly match the width of your piercing, center to center. Please view the images in the photo carousel for more in-depth sizing notes.
The higher the gauge, the thinner the ring (e.g., a 20g segment ring is thinner than an 18g ring). Here are some sizing tips regarding selecting the correct gauge for your titanium clicker hoop:
• 16 gauge
This is the "gold standard" for cartilage piercings in the body jewelry world, and is typically the needle size used for the Helix, Conch, Forward Helix, Snug, Rook, Tragus, and its cousin, the Anti-Tragus. Other common 16g locations are the Eyebrow, Labret, and Septum. In addition, 16g is ideal for piercings that have stretched slightly, as it will fill the spot more effectively. Please note that our 16g size is intended for fully healed cartilage and will only fit in channels that will accept 16g jewelry or thicker. A small group of people can wear 16g in their lobes, but if your lobe piercing has become smaller over time (or if you struggle with traditional stud earrings), avoid anything below 20g. Be sure to read our insertion notes below and proceed slowly.
• 18 gauge
18 gauge is the needle size used by most professional piercers for and it is the "standard size" for initial earlobe piercings. 18g is our middle-of-the-road option—in fact, it was the only size we offered for years! That said, 18g can still be too thick for about 20% of our clients, which is why we offer the next size, 20g!
• 20 gauge
Has your lobe piercing or nose piercing (one of the quickest to close) become smaller over time? As long as your piercing is still completely open on both sides (even if it's a tiny channel), you're in luck: 20g will most likely be the winner! Same if your piercing just feels tight and/or most standard pieces won't slide in. The key is lubrication and patience. Note: Although 20g is our smallest size, it may still cause irritation if you haven't worn jewelry recently, have smaller piercings, and/or have very delicate skin.
FOLLOW THE TIPS BELOW FOR A LOW-STRESS EXPERIENCE:
• Opening and Closing
When closing your ring, the larger sizes can feel less like a click and more like a latch. That's normal. Once the pin is in the end, you're all set, and the piece will remain closed unless pulled on with some force.
• Prep and Installation
If you are attempting to stretch your piercing in any way at all, it will be helpful to "prep" your existing piercing for a few days with a stud-type earring before installing any hinged segment ring. Maybe you haven't worn jewelry in a while. We get it! In all instances, a dab of jojoba oil or a water-based lubricant can help considerably during insertion, as can taking a warm shower beforehand. As an alternative, it's pretty easy to gently tease a former piercing back open with our Flat Back Applicator Tool, lube, and optional help from a friend. No matter what, wash your hands thoroughly, lube up, then go slowly, using a straight-backed stud or the applicator tool linked above. Once you're in, gradually build up to inserting the ring. Keep the tip of your jewelry or tool lubricated and do not force anything.
All that sounds a bit like an NC-17 movie, doesn't it!? Cheers! 😉
